Transfer to Rongai Gate (1,950 meters / 6,398 feet), the starting point of the Rongai Route. Complete park registration and begin the trek through the dense montane rainforest. Hike to Simba Camp (2,625 meters / 8,612 feet) for your first night on the mountain. Trek across the saddle between Mawenzi and Kibo Peaks, traversing barren alpine desert. Ascend to Kibo Hut (4,750 meters / 15,584 feet), the final base camp before the summit. Wake up before midnight for the summit attempt. Trek to Gilman's Point (5,681 meters / 18,638 feet) before continuing to Uhuru Peak (5,895 meters / 19,341 feet). Descend through the lush rainforest to Marangu Gate (1,860 meters / 6,102 feet). Say farewell to your trekking team and receive your summit certificates.
